    • Thanks so much, Sandy! I really appreciate your feedback and am excited to hear you’ll stick with Millie for the sequel. Your email makes me wonder…what do you sew? I took a sewing class once…I failed completely! I admire that talent tremendously and wish I could make, um, anything!

    • Thanks, Tanis. Honored to hear it kept you turning the pages into the wee hours of the night. I didn’t make your second comment public b/c it kind of spoils the ending for those who haven’t yet read it…but I do appreciate your feedback and am glad you care about Millie. Hope you’ll come back to read about the next phase of her life. I’m writing the sequel now. Cheers, julie

  1. I just finished Into the Free and was completely immersed not only in Millie’s story but in the beautiful way it was written. I am a high school English teacher and I can’t wait to share this book with my students!

    • Hi Jenny, Thank you so very much for reading Into the Free and for sharing it with your high school students. I’ll try to send you an email, but if it doesn’t go through…please don’t hesitate to contact me julie@juliecantrell.com. I’d love to connect with your students after they read the book…either via email, skype, or perhaps a personal visit. Thanks again for your interest in Millie’s story. I hope you have a fabulous summer! julie

    • Thanks so much Bobbie Jo. I’m ashamed it’s taken me this long to reply to your sweet comment. I really appreciate your support and am happy to hear Millie’s story connected with you on a personal level. The next phase of her story brings us through the next 10 years or so, so stay tuned to see what she does next! Cheers, julie

  3. Hi Julie,
I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed our visit and the farm. I can not wait to visit again soon. The pictures were so sweet. I am hoping to slow down some this summer and get back to my reading. I love your website and I am also joining the other one that you are on with southern women authors. As soon as the weather clears I want you to come ride horses with us one day. You were such a joy to be around and I hope your writing and farming continues to go well. Would love to come out and milk one day!
    Thanks -Debbie Wilson
